Waipahu Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Kaneohe
Waipahu took the lead late in the game in a 9-4 victory over Kaneohe on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Waipahu batting in the bottom of the seventh when Logan Salcedo drew a walk, scoring one run.
Waipahu fired up the offense in the first inning. Kaiana Eldredge singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Shaun Kiriu earned the win for Waipahu. The ace lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Jordan Deponte threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Jaydon Arakawa took the loss for Kaneohe. The hurler surrendered four runs on two hits over one inning, striking out one.
Ryne Miyamoto started the game for Kaneohe. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over five and a third innings, striking out one Kaipo Paiva started the game for Waipahu. The hurler went three innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and walking one
Tyler Hanzawa went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Waipahu in hits. Waipahu was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dylan Salcedo had the most chances in the field with ten.
