Waipahu Takes The Win Over Kaneohe
Waipahu took home a 6-4 victory over Kaneohe on Wednesday.
Kaneohe opened up scoring in the first inning, when Brent Vargas drew a walk, scoring one run.
Waipahu took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Dylan Salcedo singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Dylan Madamba induced Kaiana Eldredge to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
David Torigoe was credited with the victory for Waipahu. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Skyler Yamamoto threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Yamamoto recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Waipahu.
Madamba took the loss for Kaneohe. The bulldog went five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two.
Waipahu totaled nine hits in the game. Revan Wong and Salcedo all managed multiple hits for Waipahu. Salcedo and Wong each managed three hits to lead Waipahu.
Ryden Yoshikawa went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Kaneohe in hits. Kaneohe didn’t commit a single error in the field. Vargas had the most chances in the field with seven.
