Bats Blistered As Kaneohe Falls To Waipahu In High-Scoring Game

• Bats were blistered on Sunday, but Kaneohe couldn’t quite get the job done against Waipahu and lost 21-6.
• The Kaneohe struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Waipahu , giving up 21 runs.
• Kaneohe captured the lead in the first inning. Brent Vargas drove in one when he tripled.
• Waipahu took the lead for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Hunter Hirayama singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Chace Numata singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Chevas Numata singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Alika Kuraoka singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Waipahu , and Hirayama singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
• Shaun Kiriu earned the victory on the hill for Waipahu . He lasted six innings, allowing 15 hits and six runs while striking out seven and walking one.
• Jaydon Arakawa took the loss for Kaneohe . He went three innings, allowing 11 runs on ten hits and striking out three.
