Kaneohe Stymied By Waipahu, Lose 12-3
Kaneohe had trouble keeping up with Waipahu in a 12-3 loss on Wednesday.
Waipahu scored seven runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Waipahu was led by Zach Kometani, Derek Costigan, Tevin Kobashigawa, Justin Protacio, and Logan Salcedo, all driving in runs in the frame.
Skyler Yamamoto got the win for Waipahu. The righty lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out ten and walking zero. Blane Muraoka and David Torigoe entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Muraoka recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Waipahu.
Seamus Yoneshige took the loss for Kaneohe. Yoneshige lasted three innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out two.
Kaneohe tallied eight hits on the day. Jensen Park and Kristopher Kahanu all managed multiple hits for Kaneohe. Park led Kaneohe with three hits in four at bats.
Waipahu racked up nine hits in the game. Kometani and Reese Kato each managed multiple hits for Waipahu.
