Waialae Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Ewa
An early lead helped Waialae defeat Ewa 9-2 on Sunday. Waialae scored on a single by Mark Okano in the first inning, a single by Chris Mols in the first inning, a double by Tyler Nitahara in the first inning, and a double by Okano in the second inning.
Waialae notched three runs in the seventh inning. Kimo Wilinski had an RBI double in the inning to lead the run scoring.
Okano got the start for Waialae. The hurler went seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out eight and walking one.
Kelly Teramoto was on the pitcher’s mound for Ewa. Teramoto surrendered five runs on five hits over two innings, walking zero. David Nakamura, Jarred Uyeda, and Javin Nohara each contributed in relief for Ewa.
Waialae totaled nine hits. Wilinski and Okano each racked up multiple hits for Waialae. Wilinski led Waialae with three hits in three at bats.
Nakamura went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Ewa in hits.
