Sheridan Claws Back, But Falls Just Short Against Waialae
- Despite a 4-run deficit in the fourth inning, Sheridan almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-7 to Waialae on Sunday. Sheridan scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Josh Inaba in the fourth, a single by Inaba in the sixth, and a double by Blaine Hokama in the sixth.
- Sheridan was right in it until Waialae in the seventh inning.
- Waialae took an early lead in the second inning. Lenn Uyeda drove in one when he singled.
- Sheridan evened things up at seven in the bottom of the sixth inning when Hokama doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
- Sheridan put up three runs in the sixth inning. Inaba and Hokama each had RBIs in the frame.
- Waialae scored four runs in the second inning. Waialae ‘s big inning was driven by singles by Uyeda, Jordan Murai, and Kyle Watase.
- Mark Okano took the win for Waialae . He surrendered seven runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out four. Josh Nakamura threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Nakamura recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Waialae .
- Travis Ganiko took the loss for Sheridan . He lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out two.
- Aron Okamoto started the game for Sheridan . He surrendered seven runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out three
- Sheridan had nine hits in the game. Inaba and Charlie Abing all managed multiple hits for Sheridan . Inaba led Sheridan with three hits in four at bats.
- AD Mols went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Waialae in hits. Waialae stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Watase led the way with three.
