Waialae Blows Out Sheridan
Waialae asserted their will over Sheridan on their way to an easy 8-2 victory
In the second inning, Sheridan got their offense started when an error scored one run for Sheridan.
Waialae evened things up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tyler Nitahara singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Waialae pulled away for good with two runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Aron Okamoto induced Nitahara to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored.
Waialae notched three runs in the eighth inning. DJ Andrade had an RBI double in the inning to lead the run scoring.
Mark Okano was the winning pitcher for Waialae. The fireballer surrendered two runs on two hits over eight innings, striking out eight. Jeremy Delacruz threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Okamoto took the loss for Sheridan. The pitcher surrendered five runs on eight hits over five and a third innings, striking out four.
Waialae racked up ten hits in the game. Kimo Wilinski and Chance Otsuka all managed multiple hits for Waialae. Wilinski went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Waialae in hits.
Josh Inaba led Sheridan with two hits in two at bats.
