Sheridan Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Sheridan watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-5 loss to Waialae on Sunday. Waialae scored on a error in the first inning, a wild pitch by Mark Okano in the first inning, a walk by Jordan Murai in the first inning, a single by Kyle Watase in the second inning, and a groundout by AD Mols in the second inning.
Waialae took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Watase singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Mols grounded out, scoring one run.
Jeremy Delacruz led the Waialae to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The ace lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. Josh Nakamura and Ken Nakamoto entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Nakamura recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Waialae.
Eric Lum took the loss for Sheridan. Lum went four innings, allowing seven runs on five hits and striking out five.
Micah Nakasone started the game for Waialae. Nakasone allowed two hits and five runs over one inning, striking out two
Brandon Roberts, Kainoa Rallita, Asher Ginoza, Landon Hakkei, and Aron Okamoto each collected one hit to lead Sheridan.
Waialae collected 11 hits. Kimo Wilinski, Drayson Ito, and Watase all managed multiple hits for Waialae. Wilinski led Waialae with three hits in four at bats.
