Pearl City Loses Lead Early In Defeat
- Pearl City watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 14-4 loss to Waipahu on Wednesday. Waipahu scored on a single by Chevas Numata, a double by Poo Kaalekahi, a sacrifice fly by Austin Inabata, and a single by Hunter Hirayama in the first inning.
- The Pearl City struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Waipahu , giving up 14 runs.
- Waipahu fired up the offense in the first inning, when Numata singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
- David Torigoe took the win for Waipahu . He allowed seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out four.
- Daven Hermosura took the loss for Pearl City . He went five innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits and striking out two.
