Waipahu Struggles To Find Groove Against Pearl City
- Nothing came easy for Waipahu on Thursday, as they fell 13-3 to Pearl City
- Waipahu opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Waipahu .
- Pearl City evened things up at one in the top of the second inning. Pearl City scored one run when Austyn Nagamine doubled.
- Pearl City pulled away for good with eight runs in the third inning. In the third Tyler Tokunaga doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Chris Goya doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Wade Tamaru singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Nagaminedoubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Jordan Oshiro singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Tokunaga doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
- Allen Komori earned the win for Pearl City . He went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out six and walking one.
- Kaipo Paiva took the loss for Waipahu . He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and nine runs while striking out three and walking one.
- Waipahu tallied nine hits in the game. Derek Costigan and Logan Salcedo each had multiple hits for Waipahu . Salcedo and Costigan all had two hits to lead Waipahu .
