Abing’s Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending In Sheridan Victory Over Manoa

  • Sheridan took Sunday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Manoa . The game was tied at six with Sheridan batting in the bottom of the eighth when Landon Yamamoto got on base via error, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Joey Maekawa and eventually scored from third base with the winning run on a sacrifice fly to center field by Charlie Abing.
  • Manoa scored five runs in the second inning, but Sheridan still managed to pull out the victory. Trey SaitoCal Muramaru, and Marcus Doi each drove in runs during the inning.
  • Manoa fired up the offense in the second inning, when Saito singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
  • In the bottom of the seventh inning, Sheridan things up at six. Jason Takamoto drove in one when he singled.
  • After Manoa scored one run in the top of the fourth, Sheridan with one of their own. Manoa scored when Easton Torigoe singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Sheridan then answered when Reece Kiriu induced Joey Maekawa to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
  • Sheridan put up three runs in the sixth inning. Sheridan ‘s big bats in the inning were led by a single by Maekawa, a groundout by Lanson Yamamoto, and a double by Kevin Matsumoto.
  • Rylen Kuboyama took the win for Sheridan . He surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Eric Lum and Kapono Perreira entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
  • Lyle Shimata took the loss for Manoa . He surrendered one run on three hits over two innings, walking zero.
  • Aron Okamoto started the game for Sheridan . He lasted two innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out three and walking one Kiriu started the game for Manoa . He allowed two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four
