Three Sheridan Pitchers Combine To Defeat Kaneohe In Shutout Game
Sheridan defeated Kaneohe 19-0 on Sunday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Joey Maekawa induced a groundout from Justin Ibara to finish off the game.
Noah Hata led Sheridan to victory by driving in five runs. Hata went 3-for-4 at the plate. Hata drove in runs on a triple in the first and a single in the fourth.
Sheridan got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Sheridan.
A double by Aris Nakagawa in the fourth inning was a positive for Kaneohe.
Eric Lum earned the victory on the hill for Sheridan. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Maekawa and Darren Lau entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Jaydon Arakawa took the loss for Kaneohe. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on four hits over one inning, striking out one.
Sheridan tallied one home run on the day. Brandon Roberts went deep in the fifth inning.
Sheridan scattered 14 hits in the game. Jacob Maekawa, Hata, Roberts, and Maekawa all managed multiple hits for Sheridan. Roberts, Hata, and Maekawa each managed three hits to lead Sheridan. Sheridan didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kreighton Tsuruda-Gaspar had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
