Sheridan Sets The Stage For Victory With Early Lead Over Kaneohe
An early lead helped Sheridan defeat Kaneohe 17-5 on Sunday. Sheridan scored on an error, a sacrifice fly by Brandon Roberts, and a triple by Jacob Maekawa in the second inning.
Kaneohe scored four runs in the fifth inning, but Sheridan still managed to pull out the victory. The offensive onslaught by Kaneohe was led by Brent Vargas and Ryden Yoshikawa, all driving in runs in the inning.
Sheridan scored nine runs in the fourth inning. Sheridan offense in the inning was led by Roberts, Shane Himeda, Kreighton Tsuruda-Gaspar, Kory Chu, Joey Maekawa, and Lanson Yamamoto, who all drove in runs.
Aron Okamoto was the winning pitcher for Sheridan. Okamoto lasted six innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out six. Maekawa threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Derrick Yamamoto took the loss for Kaneohe. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out three and walking one.
Sheridan tallied 15 hits on the day. Roberts, Chu, and Maekawa all managed multiple hits for Sheridan. Maekawa, Chu, and Roberts each collected two hits to lead Sheridan.
Kaneohe racked up seven hits. Aalona Amimoto, Vargas, and Seamus Yoneshige all managed multiple hits for Kaneohe.
