McCully Drops Game To Sheridan After Late Score
McCully stayed in it until the end, but Sheridan pulled away late in a 12-4 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Sheridan batting in the top of the sixth when Jimmy De Carli homered on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.
The McCully struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Sheridan AJA, giving up 12 runs.
Sheridan fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jacob Maekawa grounded out, scoring one run.
Sheridan knotted the game up at four in the top of the fourth inning. Josh Inaba drew a walk, scoring one run.
Sheridan scored four runs in the eighth inning. Sheridan‘s big inning was driven by singles by Matt Inaba and Tanner Chun and an error on a ball put in play by Brandon Roberts.
Reggie Eiland earned the victory on the hill for Sheridan. The ace lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two. Kainoa Rallita threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Kamalu Simeona took the loss for McCully. The pitcher allowed two hits and four runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one.
Aron Okamoto started the game for Sheridan. Okamoto went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out two Dayton Kela Shimatsu started the game for McCully. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out one
Davis Sato, Randy Nakayama, Scott Uehara, Ryllen Abeshima, and Kaydenn Uyeda each collected one hit to lead McCully.
Chun led Sheridan with two hits in five at bats. Sheridan stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Roberts led the way with two.
