4-Hit 9 RBI Day For Nagamine As Pearl City Skirts Past McCully
Austyn Nagamine had a busy day at the plate on Sunday, smacking four hits to drive in a playoff record 9 rbi in Pearl City ‘s 15-5 victory over McCully. Nagamine doubled in the first, doubled in the fourth, hit a grand slam in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
Pearl City earned the victory despite allowing McCully to score three runs in the third inning. McCully scored its runs on a home run by Kai Matsumoto.
Pearl City got things moving in the first inning. Christopher Goya drove in one when Goya singled.
Pearl City tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Pearl City scored its runs on a grand slam by Nagamine.
Carson Okada was the winning pitcher for Pearl City. The pitcher lasted five and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three and walking one. Kolson Tanaka and Brannon Liu entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Al Estes took the loss for McCully. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing ten runs on 13 hits and striking out three.
