Ewa Can’t Catch Up To Pearl City
Ewa watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-3 loss to Pearl City on Wednesday. Pearl City scored on a single by Austyn Nagamine and a single by Kip Masuda in the first inning.
The Ewa struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pearl City, giving up ten runs.
Pearl City opened up scoring in the first inning. Nagamine drove in one when Nagamine singled.
Pearl City scored three runs in the eighth inning. The offensive firepower by Pearl City was led by Wade Tamaru and Chase Yoshida, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Nolan Kometani got the win for Pearl City. The fireballer went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits and walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Chase Masuda, Kolson Tanaka, Brannon Liu, and Tyler Inouye all securing outs and ultimately the victory.
Jarvis Nohara took the loss for Ewa. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out seven.
Carson Okada started the game for Pearl City. Okada lasted three innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero
Ewa tallied nine hits in the game. Brad Taura and Kelly Teramoto all managed multiple hits for Ewa. Taura led Ewa with three hits in four at bats.
Pearl City racked up 15 hits. Davin Kapuras, Tamaru, Tanner Inouye, Tyson Murakami, and Allen Komori each had multiple hits for Pearl City.
