Kaneohe Falls To Pearl City After Fifth Inning Score
Kaneohe stayed in it until the end, but Pearl City pulled away late in an 11-8 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Pearl City batting in the top of the fifth when Tyson Murakami singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Despite the loss, Kaneohe did collect 14 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Pearl City had seven hits on the way to victory.
Kaneohe got things started in the first inning when Kristopher Kahanu‘s sac fly scored one run for Kaneohe.
In the top of the fourth inning, Pearl City tied things up at four. Austyn Nagamine drove in two when Nagamine doubled.
Kaneohe put up three runs in the seventh inning. Kaneohe ‘s big bats in the inning were led by a walk by Chaz Kobayashi, a single by Eric Akamine, and a fielder’s choice by Kahanu.
Pearl City scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Pearl City came thanks to walks by Rorry Nakayama, Cory Yuh, Tyler Tokunaga, and Nagamine.
Daven Hermosura was the winning pitcher for Pearl City . The hurler went three innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out two and walking zero. Kolson Tanaka threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Ryne Miyamoto took the loss for Kaneohe. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits and striking out two.
Preston Yoshino started the game for Pearl City. The ace lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three
