Despite Fewer Hits, McCully Beats Manoa
Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Tuesday in a high-scoring affair where McCully bested Manoa, 9-6.
Manoa lost despite out-hitting McCully ten to nine.
Manoa got on the board in the first inning. JR Bunda drove in one when Bunda singled.
McCully pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Mason Suga singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
McCully scored four runs in the fifth inning. McCully ‘s big inning was driven by by Davis Sato and Suga and an error on a ball put in play by Ryllen Abeshima.
Al Estes earned the win for McCully. The bulldog went four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out two. Shayne Nakata threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Kulia Neal took the loss for Manoa. The bulldog went two innings, allowing three runs on five hits.
Eric Awaya started the game for Manoa. Awaya went two innings, allowing one run on one hit
Manoa tallied ten hits on the day. Austin Sloan, Awaya, and Neal all managed multiple hits for Manoa. Neal, Awaya, and Sloan each collected two hits to lead Manoa.
