Suga’s Walk-Off Gives McCully Victory Over Sheridan
- McCully seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Sheridan . The game was tied at eight with McCully batting in the bottom of the eighth when Mason Suga singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
- McCully built a seven-run lead in the first inning and then held off Sheridan ‘s charge. Sheridan scored eight runs in the failed comeback. Lanson Yamamoto, Blaine Hokama, Reid Matsushima, Hunter Fujitani, and Jason Takamoto fueled the rally with RBIs.
- McCully got things moving in the first inning, when Colby Ho‘s sac fly scored one run for McCully .
- Sheridan knotted the game up at eight in the top of the seventh inning. Takamotodrove in two when he doubled.
- Sheridan scored three runs in the seventh inning. Sheridan big bats were led by Fujitani and Takamoto, all knocking in runs in the inning.
- Al Estes got the start for McCully . He surrendered four runs on two hits over four innings, striking out four.
- Randy Tabura led things off on the hill for Sheridan . He surrendered seven runs on six hits over three innings, striking out three. Aron Okamoto and Eric Lum entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and a third innings and one inning respectively.
- McCully AJA 12 hits in the game. Suga, Andy Uehara, and Troy Kakugawaeach managed multiple hits for McCully . Suga led McCully with three hits in four at bats.
- Hokama went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Sheridan in hits.
