Waipahu Falls To Manoa After Seventh Inning Score
Waipahu lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat to Manoa on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Manoa batting in the top of the seventh when Marcus Doi‘s sac fly scored one run for Manoa.
Manoa fired up the offense in the first inning, when Bryson Nakamura hit a solo homer.
Waipahu knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the sixth inning. Reese Kato‘s sac fly scored one run for Waipahu.
JR Bunda was credited with the victory for Manoa. Bunda lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Kulia Neal, Reece Kiriu, and Jarrett Nam all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Kiriu recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Manoa.
Shaun Kiriu took the loss for Waipahu. The bulldog allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking one.
