Kaneohe Overcomes McCully In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Kaneohe weathered a push by McCully in the third inning where Kaneohe coughed up three runs, but Kaneohe still won 12-4 on Thursday. McCully scored its runs on a single by Rylan Kawakami.

McCully got things started in the first inning when Davis Sato grounded out, scoring one run.

After McCully scored three runs in the top of the third, Kaneohe answered with three of their own. McCully scored when Kawakami singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Kaneohe then answered when Kristopher Kahanu doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Brent Vargas singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Kaneohe pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Matt Ho induced Chaz Kobayashi to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored and Kahanu grounded out, scoring one run.

Kaneohe tallied five runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Kaneohe was led by Aalona Amimoto, Jensen Park, Aaron Kapeliela, and Nakoa Takahashi Gaspar, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Seamus Yoneshige got the win for Kaneohe. The bulldog allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out 12.

Ho took the loss for McCully. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on five hits over six innings, striking out two.

Ryne Miyamoto started the game for Kaneohe. Miyamoto lasted three innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one

Kaneohe saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Amimoto and Takahashi Gaspar all collected multiple hits for Kaneohe. Takahashi Gaspar and Amimoto each collected two hits to lead Kaneohe.

McCully totaled seven hits in the game. Kawakami and Chaz Kagimoto each racked up multiple hits for McCully.
