Ewa Claims Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Kaneohe

Ewa took the lead late and defeated Kaneohe 6-5 on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Ewa batting in the bottom of the eighth when Noah Kubo doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Kaneohe scored three runs in the seventh inning, but Ewa still managed to pull out the victory. Kaneohe batters contributing to the big inning included Easton Izu and Brede Kochi, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Kaneohe got things moving in the first inning. Brent Vargas‘s sac fly scored one run for Kaneohe.

In the top of the seventh inning, Kaneohe tied things up at four when Kochi doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Jarvis Nohara earned the win for Ewa. The bulldog lasted eight and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out seven and walking one. David Nakamura threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Kochi took the loss for Kaneohe. The bulldog went one inning, allowing two runs on three hits.

Ryne Miyamoto started the game for Kaneohe. The pitcher lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one

Ewa tallied ten hits. Coen Goeas, Javin Nohara, Kodey Shojinaga, Kelly Teramoto, and Kubo all managed multiple hits for Ewa. Kubo, Teramoto, Shojinaga, Nohara, and Goeas each collected two hits to lead Ewa.

Marc Oshiro went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Kaneohe in hits.
