Manoa Drops Game To Ewa After Late Score
Manoa lost the lead late in a 13-10 defeat to Ewa on Sunday. The game was tied at nine with Ewa batting in the top of the sixth when Carson Tsuruda singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Manoa lost despite out-hitting Ewa 13 to 12.
Ewa got on the board in the first inning. Ryan Murakami drove in one when Murakami singled.
After Ewa scored one run in the top of the seventh, Manoa answered with one of their own. Manoa then answered when Casey Isa tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Ewa scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Murakami, Markus Miyashiro, Cal Muramaru, Reid Goto, Coen Goeas, and Murakami each had RBIs in the frame.
Jarvis Nohara got the win for Ewa. Nohara lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out one. Javin Nohara threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Reece Kiriu took the loss for Manoa. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out two and walking one.
Austin Sloan started the game for Manoa. The hurler went one inning, allowing one run on two hits and walking one. David Nakamura started the game for Ewa.
Manoa totaled 13 hits. Brent Sakurai, Isa, Russell Doi, and Kulia Neal each racked up multiple hits for Manoa. Neal, Doi, Isa, and Sakurai each collected two hits to lead Manoa.
Ewa racked up 12 hits. Nohara, Goto, Goeas, and Murakami each had multiple hits for Ewa. Ewa was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Muramaru made the most plays with seven.
