Sheridan Leaves Victorious After Challenging Back-And-Forth Game Against Pearl City
Sheridan and Pearl City traded blows on Thursday in a back-and-forth affair, with Sheridan eventually claiming a 19-10 victory. The game was tied at ten with Sheridan batting in the bottom of the fourth when an error scored one run for Sheridan.
Kreighton Tsuruda-Gaspar led Sheridan to victory by driving in four runs. Tsuruda-Gaspar went 3-for-3 at the plate. Tsuruda-Gaspar drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second, a triple in the fourth, and a walk in the sixth.
Sheridan took an early lead in the first inning when Asher Ginoza singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Sheridan took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Darren Lau drew a walk, scoring one run, Joey Maekawa singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Sheridan, Reggie Eiland grounded out, scoring one run, and Tsuruda-Gaspar tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Pearl City scored five runs in the second inning. Pearl City‘s big inning was driven by singles by Chad Quillopo, Davin Kapuras, and Cory Yuh and a walk by Dylan Akagi.
Eric Lum took the win for Sheridan. The southpaw lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six. Brandon Roberts threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
