Pearl City Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning For Victory Over Ewa

Pearl City nabbed the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Ewa on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Pearl City batting in the bottom of the eighth when Christopher Goya singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Ewa scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Pearl City still managed to pull out the victory. The offensive firepower by Ewa was led by Kodey Shojinaga and Karter Wong, who all drove in runs.

Ewa got on the board in the first inning when Shojinaga doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Tanner Inouye earned the victory on the hill for Pearl City. Inouye allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one. Brannon Liu and Allen Komori entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Dane Kaneshiro took the loss for Ewa. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one.

Jarvis Nohara started the game for Ewa. The hurler allowed nine hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven Nolan Kometani started the game for Pearl City. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out three

Pearl City racked up 12 hits in the game. Davin Kapuras, Tyler Tokunaga, Komori, and Goya all collected multiple hits for Pearl City. Goya, Komori, Tokunaga, and Kapuras each collected two hits to lead Pearl City.

Ewa scattered eight hits in the game. Reid Goto, Wong, and Shojinaga all managed multiple hits for Ewa. Goto went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Ewa in hits. Ewa didn’t commit a single error in the field. Nohara had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
