Waialae Falls To Kaneohe After Sixth Inning Score

Waialae lost the lead late in a 9-5 defeat to Kaneohe on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Kaneohe batting in the top of the sixth when Tyler Okihiro drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the top of the fourth inning, Kaneohe tied things up at two. Kaneohe scored one run when Seamus Yoneshige singled.

After Kaneohe scored one run in the top of the eighth, Waialae answered with one of their own.

Kaneohe pulled away for good with six runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Okihiro drew a walk, scoring one run, Bryson Kihara singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Ryne Miyamoto drew a walk, scoring one run, Kristopher Kahanu singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Brent Vargas drew a walk, scoring one run, and Kent Okihiro grounded out, scoring one run.

Yoneshige was the winning pitcher for Kaneohe. The ace allowed six hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out eight. Nakoa Takahashi Gaspar threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Hunter Belmodis took the loss for Waialae. The hurler lasted one inning, allowing one hit and four runs while striking out one.

Mark Okano started the game for Waialae. Okano allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one

Waialae saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Gavin Okada and Drayson Ito each racked up multiple hits for Waialae. Ito and Okada each collected two hits to lead Waialae.

Kaneohe tallied seven hits on the day. Yoneshige, Kahanu, and Eric Akamine each collected multiple hits for Kaneohe.
