Early Lead For Waipahu Sets Stage For Victory Over McCully
Waipahu defeated McCully 7-5 thanks to a strong start. Waipahu scored on a double by Keenan Sue and a single by Dylan Salcedo in the first inning.
David Torigoe earned the victory on the mound for Waipahu. The pitcher went four innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out four and walking zero. Kale Kaalekahi recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Waipahu.
Al Estes took the loss for McCully. The bulldog went five innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.
Waipahu collected 13 hits. Salcedo, Nelson Inabata, Sue, and Trey Yukumoto all had multiple hits for Waipahu. Salcedo went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Waipahu in hits.
McCully tallied 12 hits. Ethan Javier, Matt Ho, and Scott Uehara all managed multiple hits for McCully. Javier led McCully with three hits in five at bats.
