Two Waipahu Pitchers Combine To Shutout Ewa
- Waipahu defeated Ewa 10-0 on Tuesday as pitchers Shaun Kiriu and Jordan Deponte combined to throw a shutout. Waipahu’s Austin Inabata singled with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th and final inning to drive in the 10th and final run to end the game due to the 10 run mercy rule.
- One bright spot for Ewa was a single by Ryan Murakami in the first inning.
- Shaun Kiriu earned the win for Waipahu . He went five innings, allowing zero runs on six hits, striking out five and walking one. Deponte threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
