Early Lead For Sheridan Seals Fate For McCully

• McCully fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 16-7 loss to Sheridan on Sunday. Sheridan scored on a fielder’s choice by Aron Okamoto in the first inning and a single by Josh Inaba in the second inning.
• Despite the loss, McCully did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Sheridan had 15 hits on the way to victory.
• Sheridan opened up scoring in the first inning, when Noah Sakatani induced Okamoto to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
• McCully tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Gainor Nitta, Jared Seminara, Rylen Yamamoto, and Easton Takamoto all drove in runs in the frame.
• Sheridan scored nine runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Sheridan came thanks to singles by Inaba and Charlie Abing, a walk by Doug Shimokawa, an error on a ball put in play by Lanson Yamamoto, and a double by Micah Mashima.
• Eric Lum pitched Sheridan to victory. He went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out seven. Carson Okada threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
• Sakatani took the loss for McCully . He lasted three innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out two.
• McCully collected ten hits on the day. Takamoto, Yamamoto, R Kadeta, and Nitta all collected multiple hits for McCully . Nitta, Kadeta, Yamamoto, and Takamoto each managed two hits to lead McCully .
• Sheridan scattered 15 hits in the game. Mashima, Inaba, Darren Lau, Yamamoto, and Shimokawa all managed multiple hits for Sheridan .
