The right field light tower at Hans L’Orange has not worked since last week and even though we had one AJA game and there was a HPU game with the lights not working, the City is not allowing us to play night games until the lights are fixed. They think it’s a simple fix and will contact us later today or tomorrow to let us know what is the timetable.
This will affect the schedule for the remaining three games of the regular season. Here is the playoff scenario for the five teams that are playing this week:
Ewa is eliminated from playoff contention.
Kaneohe has secured the #3 seed in the Country Division
Manoa is tied with Sheridan with 4 points but has lost the first tie-breaker of head to head competition with Sheridan.
Sheridan is tied with Manoa with 4 points but owns the first tie-breaker of head to head competition with Manoa.
Waialae has secured the #1 seed in the Town Division.
In order to ensure the games that directly affect the playoff seedings are played first, we have altered the schedule this week. This is to keep us on schedule to start the playoffs on Sunday as much as possible.
On Wednesday, Ewa vs. Sheridan will now be played at Ala Wai Field.
On Wednesday, Manoa vs. Kaneohe will now be played at Hans L’Orange. If Hans is not available on Wednesday, the game is rescheduled for Thursday at Ala Wai.
Reason for this switch:
If Sheridan wins its game, it will clinch the #3 seed in the Town Division.
If Sheridan loses and Manoa wins its game against Kaneohe, Sheridan will need to beat Waialae in its final game of the regular season. If Hans is not available this week, that game will be played on Sunday, March 3rd at Hans L’Orange.
If Manoa loses its game against Kaneohe, Sheridan will clinch the #3 seed in the Town Division.
If Sheridan loses both games and Manoa wins its game, Manoa will clinch the #3 seed in the Town Division.
