2021-22 Oahu AJA Baseball IS BACK!!

The Oahu AJA Baseball League resumes AJA Baseball after a year’s hiatus due to the COVID pandemic crisis.  It’s 2021-22 season OPENS with 3 games @ Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP) Field #1 on January 9, 2022 (Sunday).  Pearl City plays in the 9am season opener vs Sheridan, while Waialae defends it championship against Waipahu in the 12noon game.  The day ends with Manoa vs McCully 3pm game.  Ewa & Kaneohe will play their season opener against each other in the 10am game at the Ala Wai on January 16, 2022 (Sunday).

The League continues to play with wood or wood composite bats only.  Games continue as 9 innings with no new inning to begin after a 2 hour 30 minutes time limit.

The league is divided into Town & Country Divisions.  In the regular season, teams will play teams within their Division twice and teams in the other Division once for a total of 10 regular season games per team.  The Town Division is made up of Manoa, McCully, Sheridan, & Waialae.  Ewa, Kaneohe, Pearl City & Waipahu belong to the Country Division.

The End of Season Championship Tournament will include all teams.  To start the Tournament, the 1st and 2nd round games will be held on Sunday (March 6) with morning & afternoon games.  The regular season’s 4th and 3rd place teams within each Division will play each other in a Sudden Death Elimination game in the morning.  For the 2nd round, the morning game winners advance to play their Division’s 2nd place team in a Sudden Death Elimination game in the afternoon games.

The winner of each Division’s 2nd round game will advance to play their Division’s #1 seed in a unique 2 or 1 game Division Championship series.  The Division’s #1 seed must win 1 game to win the Division Championship whereas the 2nd Round winners must beat the Division’s #1 seed twice to win the Division Championship series.

The 2 Division Championship winners will then move on to play each other in a best 2 of 3 League Championship Series (Wed March 16, Thurs March 17, Sundayt March 20) to determine the Oahu AJA Baseball League Champion.

The Oahu AJA Baseball League Champion will represent Oahu in the 87th Annual Hawaii State Championship Tournament hosted by Maui AJA Baseball on April 2-3, 2022 in Maui’s Iron Maehara Stadium.
